I had something in my mind about how a child develops
The first page is about experimenting - I used to love watching, first my boys, then my grandchildren, jumping and wading in puddles. I made a rainy background and fussy cut a stamped Mabel Lucie Attwell image. The puddle is some acetate made to look like a puddle using alcohol inks.
This page is about learning to read and write. The images are Graphic 45 and the backgrounds are some inky stencilled and stamped water colour paper. The abc letters are from a set of alphabet beads that I bought thinking they were a whole alphabet- they only contain a-m so not really useful for making up many words!
This is about a child's love. Another Graphic 45 image and some stamped Crafty Individuals toddlers. A little bit of stencilling and layering onto lace and punched paper lace. Butterflies, both from my stash and punched plus a computer generated quote.
This page is about imagination - another Graphic 45 image and some toning paper to mount it, a stamped background, Lindsay Mason's teddy bear and another Crafty Individuals toddler.
The flap lifts up to reveal another line of the song - in my bestest childlike writing!
Finally this page is about childhood dreams or ambitions. For a long time I wanted to be a nurse, before changing my mind several times and eventually teaching Special Needs children.
I used Transparent 3D gloss gel through a music stencil before adding the images
The ballet dancer at the top was free with a purchase at the craft shop I visit sometimes. I added some feathers so that she could dance in Swan Lake! The stamped girl is another Lindsay Mason image. The other images are yet again - Graphic 45 - I added some white pen to make it pop!The quote is from the same LM set.
I used another of my Mabel Lucie Atwell stamps for the front of my information tag.
I am so enjoying this swap, not just for the lovely pages I am receiving, but for the way it is making me think and craft - I know I am not much of a one for embellishments on journal pages but I think I'm getting there - albeit slowly!!
Thanks for looking, Chris

I recognize that G 45 little girl jumping rope. I had the exact same page, but used all of it, not just a single girl.
ReplyDeleteI adore what you did, and I know your memories helped guide you through these pages. I think you have done a marvelous job and I'm positive Norma loves each and every one of these pages.
