We have been quite busy this weekend and although we should have been tending the garden at our caravan Woolfest was too good to miss, and we wanted to visit the Silverdale Art Trail. The latter event was a bit of a drippy wet affair as the heavens seemed to open every time we stopped the car to visit a venue! We then got ourselves in the middle of a traffic jam in the country lanes!
I have also had some time to play in my journal…it really was too wet to do any gardening when we got back!
The page has been around for a while, in various states of bits and pieces of scraps, paint and texture paste through a selection of stencils being added.
I stamped part of an Indigoblu Lake District map onto a scrap of deli paper and stuck it on with matte media gel - it didn't take very well but there it was…done!
I then used the other part of the scrap and painted one side with Paper Artsy Fresco paint - Wisteria and stamped the Visible Image Dragonfly on the reverse . The sentiment from the same set was stamped onto a piece of rescued napkin from one of our outings in France last year.

ReplyDeleteFantastic page Chris. Sorry the art trail was a damp one and that the garden is still needing attention but you are not alone in this :(
ReplyDeleteLove Chrissie xx
Sounds like you still had fun in between raindrops.
ReplyDeleteRain is good for staying inside and playing that's for sure.
Pretty dragonfly with its magical shimmery wings and very good advice.

ReplyDeleteI really like your page Chris and how you explained it --- I am not crafting right now due to grandchildren visiting - lots to do and planned to do! But you have really got me itching to do some experiment in my art journal. Oh woe is me - no napkins from Paris!

Chris, I always feel so warm and fuzzy when I visit your blog for some reason I can't define. I do love your art journal page with those soft muted colors and the shimmery dragonfly! I have really been enjoying seeing the dragonflies in the garden this year! Seems there are more than ever! Could it be that the pool is GREEN? Talk about needing attention! (Our pump is broken and are trying to get the part to fix it.)
ReplyDeleteI have been a pretty sorry visitor to so many lately, but I do hope to get caught up at some point. My life takes me in so many other directions lately. Thank you for your faithful visits to my blog and your super uplifting comments! You make my day! Big hugs!
A super art journal page Chris. Love the texture you have created it suits your dragonfly so well.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week, Julie x

I can definitely relate to the rain. Boy can I relate! Sadly, I can't relate to a traffic jam in the country.
ReplyDeleteBut I was glad you had time to make art, and this latest AJJ entry is wonderful. You always find extra journal prompts to join, too. Good for you, since I know you love to journal so much.
Fabulous journal page, Chris. The textures look super!
