WOYWW - 364 -The 7th Anniversary

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday has been the destination for many crafters for 7 years now, as every Wednesday they come along to Julia's Stamping Ground to show their desks - messy or pristine clean or anything in between! The idea was all Julia's and has been for many, a place to meet up and share….well...all sorts of things. I have only been part of this for 4 of those 7 years but have made friends, some of whom I have met on a couple of crops, and then at other events!
So, what I want to say is "Thank you Julia, for starting and hosting this weekly gathering". 
Julia is preparing herself for major surgery soon and hopefully is getting plenty of rest while Lunch Lady Jan hosts in her absence.

 So, what's on my desk today?
I have several journal pages at various stages - this one is a rescued page - I stamped rather badly and decided I couldn't live with it so I have gessoed over everything - not sure where this is going now, as the background I made has now gone!! It is most likely that I will use the Carabelle Paris stamp that I made the mess up with, I will be more careful next time!!!
You can see at the back right the texture paste (which I am loving!) and the 3D Gloss Gel(my very favourite product to use at the moment!)At centre back some Distress paints that have been having another airing since I attended a Kas Hayselden workshop. There's also my large glue bottle that I am going to use to refill the smaller bottle as I find that easier to control on smaller projects.
My other favourite 'thing' of the moment - the Paper Artsy Infusions are at hand all the time! 

 Film Review
I didn't get back very early last week after seeing 'X Men Apocalypse' so didn't get to review it! 
It was hubby's choice as I mentioned, and there was a promise of Hugh Jackman - he was on for around 10 minutes!
The film wasn't too bad, but I'm afraid I found it difficult to keep track of who was on who's side (a sharper brain would manage fine!!)
I think it's my turn to choose a film next time!!

 I have good intentions of making lots of visits….but please forgive me if I don't!!

    Happy 7th WOYWW, Chris - thank you for helping us celebrate today! It has been my pleasure and privilege to meet up with so many lovely deskers in real life - let's face it, our paths would have been unlikely to cross otherwise. I love the fact that our conversations carry on in reality where the virtual ones left off :-). I would like to meet up with Neet one day, don't know how it's going to happen but it will!

    That is an amazing stamp! But i can imagine itis difficult to get right as it is so big.

    I am determined to visit everyone. I have dedicated today to WOYWW. (a freezer meal for hubby I'm afraid!)

    I'm thinking of returning to paper and paint. Only thing is I'm still enjoying stitching. We could do with more hours in the day us crafters

    gesso - tippex for the crafter!! Isn't it funny how something can bug you - I have one page in an altered book that I have never been happy with. I've tried to rescue it several times but I think the answer may just be gesso and go over. Happy Anniversary!! Cindy #48 xx

    Oh yes, X-men does sound like a hubby choice. Luckily my hubby could go to it by himself even though I dragged him to see Keanu (the gangster kitten) with me. Lots of nice mediums on your desk to play with. That's the nice thing about gesso, you get a re-do! Good thoughts on using the big bottle to refill the smaller bottle. I really wish I had thought of that when it comes to shampoo. Now I have this giant bottle rattling around my shower! Happy crafty day! PJ #63

    I've had two meltdowns, but I had to stop by and see what was going on at your desk. That was a lovely tribute to Julia. She certainly deserves it.

    I can't believe you and I have become such good friends because of WOYWW. The magic of the internet and the love that Julia sends and gives. It's ironic that I have been there all seven years, but lately I've found it too hard to keep up with everyone and still do other things. I'm SO impressed that you manage to keep up with everything, and still travel as much as you do.

    Guess you saw the package on my work desk. Guess you know where it's going! Happy 7th anniversary.

    Nothing wrong with gessoing over to start again - there's a lovely softness to the background, just ready for that gorgeous stamp. I enjoyed a couple of the early X-Men films, but I've started to lose interest these days...

    Gesso is the great rescuer always isn't it and your page looks lovely eventho it is not what you'd planned exactly.
    That Paris stamps looks very nice.
    I like stamping on tissue paper and then affixing it to my page using gluestick on the page (not on the tissue). It melts in so nicely and I don't have to worry about my stamping that way. You probably do that too...sharing... just because ;-)
    You are so good to go to see that movie.
    I asked Mr M if he and his super hero loving friend will be going to see it ;-).
    Fun seeing your work space = so neat and tidy!

    Sorry that I wasn't able to stop by earlier. But we have such beautiful weather here in southern Germany. The sun is shining and it is so wonderful to be outside with nature all around. I would just love to take a peak in that journal of yours Chris! Your space is so neat and tidy, mine is always very chaotic :-)
    I am a true driftwoodaholic to tell you the truth. And yes my husband also asks me if I'm crazy ;-) ... Chris I need your help on the ATC trade... I make one for you too, right?! We trade, both of us, each other. Right? ... here's my email address. I'd rather send you my snail mail address that way!

    Love your review - you certainly made me smile this morning.
    I too have been painting in a journal and my friend and I decided the best way to delete a page we don't want is to use Black over it. If you have some of Dyan's negative stencils it is an easy matter as you can leave nice big patches of colour. Is it this weekend you are there?
