I have been saving some photos for you of my trip to Version Scrap in Paris…and of course on my desk are the few goodies I managed to buy.
So few you might wonder….and of course there is a tale to tell…..
Hubby had a migraine on the morning my SIL and I were due to go so he stayed in the hotel while we walked with BIL to where Version Scrap was being held. As we were on the way hubby phoned to say he was feeling better, so BIL and he arranged to met at the Natural History Museum - about half a mile away from VS.
By the time we had gone through security and then to the ticket Desk to pick up our tickets,(kindly left by Sally from Paper Artsy as I had applied to PA for tickets) it was getting on and the place was PACKED!!!!
Not wanting to rush into spending our money we ambled(and fought our way through crowds!)around the area, SIL bought some distress inks and we went to join the hot dog queue. It was hot and both my cardi and coat were draped over my bag while we ate. As we were near to the loos decided to 'go'! Just as we were sorting out bags BIL appeared - asking why we weren't answering our phones…it seems that he had been trying for an hour….hubby had passed out in a lift at the museum!!!
Now…if I had answered the call I probably would have suggested that hubby sleep it off…he was in a darkened medical room at the museum…but as BIL had rushed over, fought his way in(tight security regs and no ticket!!) felt the best thing to do was to leave…except that I hadn't bought anything and there was no pass out system available(or maybe there was - I just asked the wrong people)!
I knew that if I went back to hubby and and hadn't bought anything he would yell at me(sort of..he doesn't yell!!)so I gave myself 20 minutes to zoom to two stands - probably would have got more but the queues to pay were quite long so just grabbed at stuff…as you see here!
We hot footed over to the museum to find hubby….first words…"What are you doing here?"…….
Good news is - he felt better and we set off and found somewhere for the menfolk to eat while we enjoyed a cup of coffee!
Now for those photos..
I hope I haven't rambled too much and that you enjoy these photos!
Thanks for looking, Chris

ReplyDeleteGood fathers! It sounds to me like you had quite an adventure. Hope your husband is doing well now - that sounds pretty scary to me especially for Bill.

Goodness me. What a time you all had there in Paris, Chris. I do hope hubby is now fully recovered. What a shame you didn't have longer at the show - but it was more important that you saw hubby.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Your hubby sounds like such a gem of a man! I'm glad he was okay, not a nice experience for him. You did so well to manage to get your hands on anything at all, especially with long queues for paying. I sure hope you have fun with what you did manage to buy and who knows, maybe next year will see you return and with greater success :)

So pleased you are around again, seems quite a while. Looks as though you made a good choice of new stash even if you didn't have long, love those stamps. You must show us how you use them. Have a great week and happy woyww, Angela x 21
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness - what a pity, having got all the way there, that you didn't have more time to see the show, but hearing that news I can imagine you'd want to go and check on him. It looks as though you made good use of your brisk shopping time though - those artStamps look just amazing.

You got some cool stamps during your fast and furious shopping spree. I've always wanted to go to an arts and crafts materials and tools exhibit, but I probably would be dangerous for my wallet. Thanks for visiting my blog and blessings!
ReplyDeleteI have to laugh at the nonchalant way this tale unfolded. Seems BIL was more worried than either you or T. That looks like a HUGE craft show. And I see you really LOVE your stamps!
ReplyDeleteGosh what an adventure that turned out to be. Glad DH was ok but so sorry that you did not get to see as much as you would have liked. Do you recommend the show or is it too busy?
ReplyDeleteSee you on the 14th.
Hugs, Neet xx
ps love the photos
Hope he is well recovered! Hopelessly late at visiting again this week - busy with Ben, curtains and lunch out with Sister in law - all good fun!
ReplyDeleteWow! You all had quite the "adventure"! Glad your hubby is ok. Looks like some fun goodies you got! Thanks for the visit and hope you have a great weekend!
