I have long admired those journal pages that leave white space but it is something that has to be so carefully considered before I start!
This time I used one of my larger journals. I had copper and verdigris on my mind so made a few random smudges with copper acrylic paint along the page and then stamped circles using any tops the were on my desk.
Once the paint had dried I washed over with a green paint
I then gathered up a few scraps lying around on around my desk from recent projects.
Wasn't entirely happy but a final addition of a little heart button and a handwritten word and I was done!
I would like to enter in the challenge at Paper Artsy - White Space
Now for some more of those Paris photos.
We went to the Promenade Plantee which we have visited a few times, it was of course, the perfect place to visit in Springtime!
The apartments along the the way take a pride in their balconies. |
We think this must have been one of the stations on the old railway line and it is where we came down for a well earned cup of coffee.
I would also like to enter the Frilly and Funkie challenge - It's not Easy being Green. I used my scraps up that would have otherwise just been rubbish!
Thanks for looking, Chris
Love your colors, and love ALL of your additions, including the button and JOY! Isn't it so satisfying to clean your desk AND create a pretty piece?! Thanks for Paris pix, too.
ReplyDeleteYour page is lovely. Beautiful colours and I like the additions you have made.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. When I was younger I went to Paris several times. It really is a beautiful city, especially in Springtime. Barbxx
Love the photos, especially the balcony with all those pots hanging from it, so pretty. Great journal page, lovely colours. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteGreat journal page! I love those colors together and how you artfully arranged your scraps--such perfect balance of texture and color! I certainly enjoyed taking a walk with you through your lovely photos! My favorite is that tremendous wall of greenery! What an amazing visit you must have had! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteFirst, I want to say how much I simply adore that beautiful journal page. It has such great composition, color, and rhythm. The heart was simply the perfect final addition. I'd give anything for my art to feel that abstract and free.
ReplyDeleteYour trip photos are incredible as always. I love the balcony shot. Had to enlarge that one. The second balcony shot looking down was also a fave. And that station shot is beautiful. The clock at the top was a beauty too. Reminds me of a mantel clock, only on top of a building!
Thanks for the idea about the new challenge. I may check it out, but right now I'm off to try to buy some herbs.
I took your advice and entered the challenge at Frilly and Funkie. Thanks dear! Now I MUST go look for herbs.
ReplyDeleteTerrific ideas for your page and not easy to leave any white for sure..
ReplyDeleteLove the photographs and the name of the place you visited-thank you for sharing them

Great work with your white space page, Chris - the composition is fantastic, and I just love the coppery paint against the turquoise.
ReplyDeleteMore lovely photos from your trip - I really love seeing how towns and individuals incorporate nature into the urban environment - those triangular planted beds in particular are spectacular.
