Try It On Tuesday new theme and T Stands for….the easy option!

My second post of the day and I haven't even had breakfast yet!!

Our new theme at Try It On Tuesday is 'Feminine and Fancy'.
I am trying to get ahead with my cards this year and this one will be hand delivered, so I got busy with something fancier than I usually make!
My card base is from a new set of fancy edged cards and onto that I mounted some gesso washed glittery paper that I bought to share with my GD - she used hers to make fold up books for her friends.
I added some Frantage embossed swirls but they don't really show up.

I also added a stencilled clock face(which later became covered up!!) and some spatters at this stage, before die cutting some binka that I have loads of, from when I used to do cross stitch. I wasn't sure how well it would cut but as you can see it was fine!(I also made a card in this post here from the waste around the edge)I then cut a piece of book paper using my small scissors to cut a border.
My flowers are a combination of die cut and bought, the leaves die cut or stamped and fussy cut.

The sentiment looked a bit lost with one stamping so I 'bumped" it slightly to make it bolder.
Of course Tuesday is the day to join Bluebeard and Elizabeth for T Stands for Tuesday.
It has been quite cold recently and although I make my own soup usually we have it as a meal with a sandwich.
We have found an instant one that we like so that's in our cups from when we came back from a shopping trip!

I do hope that you will join us this time at Try It On Tuesday with some thing Feminine and Fancy! Any kind of crafting is great - as long as you stick to the theme!

If you want to see what else I am up to this month please take a hop over to AJJ !

Thanks for looking, Chris

  8. Well I'd be giddy, too, if I were March's host for AJJ. What a special honor. I love that you are hosting, and other than Valerie and Susi, you are the first host I know/knew before you hosted.

But for now, lets get to the TioT entry. It was a beautiful card, and I really like it. I had NO idea what binka was until you mentioned cross stitch. Looks like you can die cut just about anything these days! It was a wonderful addition to the card.

Loved that you used soup in your cup today. Different, yet very appropriate. Thanks for sharing it with us for T this Tuesday, and now I'm off to see your AJJ entry!

  9. That is an amazing card. So many layers and details. I'm glad to read it will be hand delivered. I would be afraid it would be squished in the mail.
