T Stands for……the lake!!!

We have been up to our caravan for a few days. We had been told that the electric had been off so were hoping that the generator on site had prevented our frozen food from being spoiled! We found that it was OK and that although the mains electricity was off for a week a generator came to the rescue and everything was fine!
The weather wasn't very nice and I spent some time making more Christmas cards - it seems that the ones I thought were at the caravan weren't there and although some were, it wasn't enough. At least when they do turn up I will have a head start for next year!!
I overstamped using a simple wreath with different colours - turning slightly each time and then added stickles.
We went into Kendal, mainly to see lovely Pandy (and Henry the dog) at the Kitten and the Goat craft shop. Fortunately she hadn't been flooded but the town hasn't had as many people going in to shop - a perfect excuse to treat myself to a few goodies….Oh! It really would have been rude not to!!!
The lights were lovely but unfortunately photos haven't turned out well.

This has just reminded me that I promised some Christmas Market pics from our trip to Manchester!

Albert Square has quite a lot of food stalls. I tried to cut out the dreadful blow up Santa that sits atop one of Manchester's most beautiful buildings-the Town Hall

Oh! and that lake? This is the view we woke up to on Sunday morning

By the afternoon the seagulls had found it!

This is the same scene last March

I am joining Bluebeard, Elizabeth, Squiggles and the T gang today

The Christmas mugs are out - the first thing we did on our return on Sunday evening was to get the kettle on for a cup of instant!

I mentioned the other week I had received a letter I didn't want - it seems I am going to need surgery - minor only I hope as they have said I will be out by the evening - yesterday's appointment was to discuss options and I am hoping that all will be done by the end of February!

I will be along to visit as soon as I have had (yet another) coffee!

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and if we don't meet again for a while a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Thank you for looking! Chris…and a X for Christmas!

  11. I love your sparkly wreaths, Chris - what a great design to catch up some quick extras at the last minute.

Lovely to see the market in Manchester - and well done for almost eliminating the blow-up Santa (yuk!). It must have been so hard in the Lakes, with business down even in the places which have escaped the worst of the flooding. Glad your frozen food survived (the memory of arriving in the Czech Republic one April - when Cestina hadn't been there since November - to find that a power cut had taken out the freezer lives vividly in my memory - oh the smell of rotting meat is hard to get rid of!!).

Sorry to hear you have an op in store, but as you say, let's hope it's all done and dusted nice and smoothly - and first of all, have a wonderful Christmas without thinking about it!
    Hugs,
    Alison xx

  13. First, I want to apologize for being so late getting here this Tuesday. I was out all day, then got home in time to crash. I just woke and realized I had T visitors I had not seen yet.

I LOVE the cards. Those wreaths are simply incredible. BTW, when I read your comment,I wanted you to know that I checked my mailbox when I got home this evening and your card has not yet arrived. Seems they take forever, so that's why I was surprised you got yours so fast.

I loved the photo of Kendal. It put me in the mood for Christmas with the lights and festive appearance the photo conveyed.

Manchester is lovely, too. Had to laugh at that ugly Santa sitting on the regal building. I'd have cropped it out, too. I'm always in awe of streets that don't have cars on them, where foot traffic is the norm.

Yep, that's a LAKE. What a lot of rain you got, but glad your caravan is safe and sound.

Loved seeing your mugs all ready for action. Thanks for sharing them this Tuesday, too. BTW, it's still Tuesday in my world.

Merry Christmas to you and your family, too. I'm sure we'll "talk" again before then, though. And I'm off to read your e-message, too.

Hope your op goes ok and you recovery quickly.

Love the cards you made they look so classy and the photographs are terrific with lots to look at.

Have a great Christmas and thank you again

    Love Chrissie xx

  17. It is always a treat to stop by for a visit Chris.
Your cards are oh so lovely and I enjoyed all of your holiday photos very much. Fun how Christmas markets have popped up all over the globe. We always cringe abit when we see the Christmas "inflatables" especially when some are flat during the day. Different strokes for different folks as the saying goes LOL!
Sending healing energy and all good wishes your way.
Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!
Thank you for your lovely comment for T too.
