First I would like to show you the card I made for one of my SILs.
As usual I try to keep my cards for posting flat, and I decided to go with an Autumnal card,
I used the edge of a stencil to get the tree shape before stamping the Lavinia Stamps tree using Archival WV Potting Soil.
I used a few different orange shades of Distress ink and edged the paper with Brushed Corduroy DI.
The leaves were stamped with a tiny leaf shape button.
I mounted everything simply on brown and orange card.
I found the ribbon in
These are some of the trees in Tatton Park where we went on Friday and gave me some inspiration.
Now, I'm not sure whether you know, but Bleubeard and Elizabeth invite you on the second of every month to share something from your bloggy past.
I have gone back to November 3rd 2012 with this post….

Hels' Sunday Stamper challenge this week was Autumn/Fall, I haven't joined in with one of these for ages but I leapt to it straight away, unfortunately it's taken me until today to complete it and with a deadline to closing only hours away thought I'd better get on with it!!
Like many, I do love Autumn colours(as my camera would prove lol!)so I found this easy to get on with!
This part of the lyrics from 'Windmills Of My Mind' goes through my head often in Autumn so although Hels had thought of the Neil Young classic 'Harvest Moon' I'm afraid this is how I see this challenge(soreee!!)
I'm sure Stampotique's Mothfab would be one to colour her hair with the changing seasons, so with the help of some Crafty Individual and My Minds Eye leafy stamps I ended up with this!
Words were computer generated!
Thanks for looking, Chrisx

Love the card and the look back at our journal page. Autumn is such a wonderful time! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThere's autumn in everything you shared with us today. One of the things I SO, SO appreciate about you, is you manage to make gorgeous cards without using everything but the kitchen sink. I don't see how some people even find envelopes for theirs! I was especially intrigued by your use of a button to stamp the leaves. That's definitely thinking outside the box.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your gal and her autumn hair. This is a smart and fun look back at a great journal page. And of course it's OK to have more than one challenge on a post, at least it is in my world.
Thanks for revisiting this post and thanks for joining in at Second on the 2nd.
Love all this Chris, but the inspiration from the photo at Tatton Park especially! I'd love to visit there sometime.
ReplyDeleteI came to see your second on the second post and had the added joy to see the lovely Birthday card you made your SIL!
