I found out about the ABC Christmas Challenge a little too late for it to make a big difference to my Christmas card collection this year (I'll definitely be looking out for it next year!!)and this is only the second chance I've had to enter. With only around two hours to go here is my entry
I only realised that the challenge closed today just after I had eaten my lunch. The challenge is to include 'Transport' - I don't have many stamps that include any method of transport - apart from a couple of Santa and sleigh silhouettes, but I do have this one, from one of the very first sets I ever bought and this particular stamp had never been inked until today.
I used some corrugated card torn and overlaid onto some patterned paper from my scrap box. I added some PA snowflake fresco paint onto the card. The sentiment was stamped onto part of an old envelope. I added some stickles to make some snow but it doesn't show up much here!
Of course I also have my coffee, and today you can see I am celebrating with a dark chocolate flower. My blood sugar levels have dropped so much that I have had my medication reduced - as from this evening! It is not by a lot and will need reviewing but today I am happy!!!
The chocolates are from one of my favourite places to visit when we are at the caravan(although not too often)- there is a chocolate shop in Orton that has a lovely cafe. We love to visit the Farmers Markets that are held in Orton every 2nd Saturday of the month.
We missed last weeks as we had an invitation to an exhibition at Farfield mill - a really inspiring event!
Thanks for looking, Chris

Your card is really nice, and I love the photos with their wonderful, autumnal colours. Glad to hear about the lower sugar values, good for you, and enjoy your coffee with a little treat here and there! Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI am delighted to hear about your bloodsugar levels going down! And the autumn colours in your photos are wonderful. We have very little colour in northern Sweden this year, probably because of the high temperatures this fall. Normally, we should be expecting snow any day, but I think not this year. Happy T Day!
ReplyDeleteOh my-those lush colors of autumn by the castle truly are glorious!! Great news to have your med reduced and blood sugar levels drop. Personally I can't go there yet(Christmas cards) but yours is a really lovely one. Yes, those darn Stickles ARE difficult to get to show in photos. That is a beautiful coffee mug there. Happy T day!
ReplyDeleteLovely card Chris and what fabulous photos. I'm so glad your blood sugar has come down. Take care dear lady. xxxxx

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the Christmas card and it's more than I've made. Isn't it ironic how a specific challenge has us looking for a specific product or (in your case) stamp? Using it for the first time always has some significance. I'm on a quest, as you know, to bring back my decorative scissors, some of which have never been used.
ReplyDeleteYour photos of the area are beautiful and show autumn has arrived in your area. Not so here, where the weather is still HOT.
So glad to read about the lower blood sugar. I think that all started in France, too. So nice you can have a bit of chocolate with your coffee. Thanks for sharing your coffee, chocolate, lovely photos of the area, and your card with us for T this Tuesday. Sorry I am so late visiting. I didn't think I'd be THIS late, though.
Pretty card! Must have felt good to ink up that lovely stamp finally, too! :)

Cutting it fine, but I'm glad you made it. I love the snowy white against the kraft, and the stamp is very sweet - happy it got some inking! What stunning photos of the foliage - thank you for sharing those - made my heart happy.
