I must say mine is usually a filter coffee these days - I had to give up(well almost…)my favourite mochas because of the sugar content!
So, let me explain…the new challenge at Try It On Tuesday is Teacups(or mugs, and you can have tea or coffee, whichever is your preference!)
I have made a card, as now I am back home for a while I can invite a friend out for a promised visit to a garden centre with a craft shop attached!
She knows I don't drink tea but I think she will like this card!
I decided to layer up a couple of papers and just turn up the edges for a shabby look (this is best done by running a water brush along the edge if the card before pressing up the edges)The corrugated card had a quick dry brush over with PA Fresco - Snowflake.
The cups are from a Crafty Individuals set and were coloured with distress inks and then heat embossed to 'glaze' them - sadly it doesn't show here.
I used some of my 'collection' of flowers in the corner with some seam binding ribbon.
Now for the other part of my post title - T stands for….
This is an invitation from Elizabeth and Bleubeard to join her with your drink (and food if you wish!). Of course, I have lots of pictures of my drinks in France but I am writing this before we go away as we returned home late last night!
For now a few pics of what we did at Bank Holiday.
We went into Morecambe and were delighted to see lots of vintage buses on display!
Of course going down onto the sea front took us close to The Midland Hotel and the Rotunda!
How rude I am - I started without you!
So sorry! The sea air and breeze had made me hungry!
It was the most delicious hot dog I have tasted! As you can see - I chose a Mocha - haven't quite broken the habit and the Rotunda do the very best!!
Can I make up for this by giving you a little tour?
First the light fitting and the new murals
As you can see the bar at the centre of the circle!
The ceiling in the reception area is fantastic!
Even the loos(rest room) is spectacular - Mens stairs on one side, ladies on the other lead to the same room down below! The cubicles are separated….
….and there is somewhere to sit while waited for your beloved!!!
I forgot to take a photo of the back of the hotel where the Rotunda is but this is the front
The Midland Hotel was left to decay for a while but has now been brought back to it's original Art Deco Style!
Oh! We did see the sea too!!
I hope that you will join us at Try It On Tuesday where the design Team have some fantastic examples to show you and inspire you - and maybe make you get your crafting materials out and join us…bring your drink with you!
Elizabeth and Bleubeard will also be pleased to see you here!
Thanks for looking, Chris

ReplyDeleteGorgeous card and photos,Have a nice day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteI adore that card, Chris. Your lovely shabby chic design, coupled with the flowers, makes this truly romantic.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking us to the beach, too. That hotel is stunning. It's so good they brought it back to life, unlike here in the US, where we tear down because it's too costly to repair and refurbish. Why is it we find money to destroy, but not to repair? Not so in your country.
Thanks for sharing lunch, mocha, the beach, and your lovely teacup card with us for T this Tuesday.
Love your card Chris with the shabby feeling!

Lovely card you created Chris!
ReplyDeleteStacked cups always appeal to me, that is a very nice stamp and embossing it is a great idea too.
Lovely to go along on your adventures with you and get to see new and exciting places.
That hotel is a real gem...great that it could be restored so handsomely.
Happy T Day to you

ReplyDeleteHugs, Mar
WOW what a gorgeous creation this is!!! So shabby and so magnificently chic :) Thank you for the inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteLove your card- the corrugated cardboard gives it just the right shabby chic feel. I like the vintage buses, too. The red double decker bus reminds me of The Java Stop- an old bus converted to a coffee spot. Mobile so it could go to various venues. Lots to look at in the Rotunda!
ReplyDeleteFantastic DT piece with wonderful ideas for the layers
ReplyDeleteLove the pics of Morecambe. Haven't been for years but it is on our list

I haven't seen the ocean since I was a kid! Lovely art deco building.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to remember that idea of wetting around the edges of the paper to rough it up. That looks really cool! Happy T-Day! :)
