I'm enjoying the Q&L challenges set by the Craft Barn using a choice of word - this time the choice was 'marriage' or 'age'. There were quite a few came to mind but I finally settled on this Tom Stoppard quote.
The tag was one I'd coloured a while ago with distress inks so yesterday I used black soot DI through a couple of stencils and rubbed some more black soot around the edges. Marci had to stand on some scraps I pulled out of my little pencil case (if I go on to describe my ways of storing scraps from very large in a big box file, smaller in a couple of clear A4 folders, smaller still in the pencil case and even smaller still in a little clear box you will probably think I've lost the plot!)She seemed quite happy! The tape is one I 'found' in TKmaxx - American Crafts I think but has a lovely shiny finish.
I'm just in time to link to the challenge!
Thanks for looking, Chris
Hi Chris, love your Tag. :) Marci is just gorgeous.x
ReplyDeleteI love this tag - fab background and delightful little figure. I seem to remember you mentioning TKMax as a source of crafting material before. Our local branch never seems to have anything like that, but maybe I haven't looked hard enough or gone in on the right day. Julie Ann xx
ReplyDeleteLove everything about this tag ...it's really fab!
ReplyDeleteLove the creative way you "wrote" your quote and the background is full of interest. The girl image is just fun (although a little scary)!
ReplyDeleteA great quote and the Stampotique image fits it perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI just love that quote! Love your tag too and the wonderful background you created and the image is really cute. I did not know that TKMax did crafty bits, will have to check them out. Hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteI agree with that quote. Why can't we be born as smart as we are when we finally come of age? Love the tag, AND the way Marci had to stand on some scraps (grin). Scraps are what I'm using for this challenge this year, and I love it when others do, too.
ReplyDeleteFab quote, made me smile... Marci looks very comfortable on her scraps and am liking you are using up your scraps when playing in this challenge. Fab colours and great stencilling :-)
ReplyDeleteI like everything about this tag, especially the colour combination and the different styles on the quote. Marci is a dear.
ReplyDeleteSuper tag, love all the scraps you used (I keep mine too!) BJ
ReplyDeleteWhat a super cute tag. I love it, the colours, the lay out, the quote. Well done
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this tag - the black soot gives the colours such a subtle smoky effect, and the image and sentiment are very cool... though I would urge Tom to consider whether immaturity isn't an even higher price to pay for youth...
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
Fab quote. Your tag is fantastic. I love how you have shaded your inks.

Love the image which goes with the quote perfectly. A super tag.
