WOYWW 217

After a busy week I was finally home to mess up that tidy desk you saw two weeks ago! Well, actually not that untidy - not that I've turned over a new leaf just that I've been using alcohol inks to make a few more frames (using those plastic frames I got from NOZ on my French holiday) and I like to have space.
If you want to know why I should want to show this, well, I'm encouraged by Julia and her band of merry followers to actually show the lot whatever state it's in - want to find out more then click here.
So here it is...
..the one I finished before bed time last night centre, two more to the right coloured and two awaiting attention at the top of the mat, the finished one you may have already seen in a previous post is at the back propped up. On the left an open journal page just waiting for a spark of where to go next, on the right my mini disc(remember those?) container that is now used for my alcohol inks, on the far right a mucky stamp that I had to use for a couple of sympathy cards. We are finding that being in a retirement complex occasionally has it's down side, even though there are so many inspiring neighbours we are all getting older!!!! However the funeral tea was a jolly affair, our friend was 99 when she died and her husband and sister made sure she had a good send off!!
Sorry to end on a morbid note - I know, I'll show you the coloured ones in close-up!
Ok, that's it, off to see Hugh Jackman again today -'Wolverine', probably in 3D!
Hope to get to visit later, Chris

  3. Hi Chris. I love the frames you're colouring.
As I look at it death is the only thing in life we can be sure of so it's good to live to 99 and have a good send off.As we get older there does seem a lot of it about though doesnt there?
    Big hugs,

  6. I love alcohol ink! I think your frames are lovely! I haven't done anything like that yet! I am smiling over your friend's funeral "tea". I LOVE that idea! I have so many tea parties with family and friends in "life", I will ask them to do that for me when my time comes! Enjoy the week!! Winnie#65

  8. great frames, but had to go back and look at the journal page once Carole had mentioned it, like that too. Sorry to hear of the loss of one of your friends, but of course 99 is a great age - I lost a friend last week in his 70's older than I but never thought of him as 'old' at all. (sorry now I am being morbid)

  13. I haven't played with my Alcohol inks in ages, so seeing your beautiful frames may just be the inspiration needed to do so. I have heard nothing but good reports about Wolverine so I am sure you will love it! We are off to see it this weekend. Have a great Week! Danie #25

  14. I do so love those frames, it's great we got to see some more. I'm so glad the funeral was not all doom and gloom - 99 is a great age to reach and should be celebrated, so glad you gave her a good send-off. I'm late commenting today, as I had to go and collect my daughter from the airport after her holiday. Lovely to have her back safe and sound, even if it does mean loads more washing! Julie Ann #12

  15. I love those alcohol ink effects, and have been watching Barbara Gray playing with them on acetate to create backgrounds for her stamps. Yet another idea to play with when time allows. Thank you for your visit, and, yes,it was good to see it disappearing down the road. Have a good week. xx Maggie #48

  16. They look fab Chris..I do admire your forward thinking...I would not have thought of doing this at the time of seeing them in the shop! I think Wolverine should be compulsory viewing for us gals.

  17. Frames are looking great and I do love the colours on the journal page. I went to see my Aunt this afternoon- she is 88 and in sheltered housing. She always seems to have a story re someone who has just passed away. Hearing so much about Wolverine and am wondering if I should go. I did go to cinema last week to see Monster Uni - took my grandsons :-0 I actually enjoyed it. Sorry I'm late and thanks for coming to se me. Anne x #24

  18. Love the frames. That is a new technique to me. Sorry about the loss of your friend. We've had a bit of that, but turn around and we have a wedding and an announcement of expecting from various other friends. So also much rejoicing. I cannot WAIT to see Wolverine. Saw a special on how it was made, and I think it will be fabulous. Not to mention, just the plain old eye candy of Hugh Jackman :). Thank you for sharing! I am following another WOYWW-er's practice of at least checking others who registered at similar numbers & ending in -6 for me this week! Take care!
