Spring at AJJ

This really is a very quick post!

I have final page for Valerie's 'Spring' theme at Art Journal Journey!

I have so enjoyed this theme!

This Spring started with some lovely sunshine - now we have to wrap up warm as the the temperatures are about to drop - big time!!

This is a Wanderlust page

We shown how to print using texture paste on our own hand made stamps, Enjoyable, but quite messy!

I made a vase of Spring flowers. Hubby made lots of leaf stamps.

Sorry, I did say it would be a quick post - places to go etc., etc.

Thanks for looking, Chris

T Stands for The Rush!

Hi everyone, I am popping in and out very quickly today. I've been busy all day scheduling posts...and packing...and setting up a way to water my houseplants..and using up food in the fridge! Why? Tomorrow we are off to...Paris!!!

So, with very few words my post for T Stands for Tuesday with Bleubeard and Elizabeth at The Altered Book Lover here I go...

We had to visit the bank in Chorlton the other week and spotted a new cafe in a building we used to know as Woolworth's. It must have been something else in between Woolworth's closing down and the Lounge cafe opening but we can't recall what it was! Hubby had Cappuccino and I had my usual Americano.

We went to Lyme Park on Thursday.
We took a path we had never taken before....

We also walked our usual route around the garden

The scent from these hyacinths was amazing

Hopefully the hotel Wi-Fi will be good enough to catch up with commenting!

I have some scheduled posts coming up soon!

Thanks for looking, Chris

Study in blue!!!

Hi everyone, it's been a busy week! I wish I had had the presence of mind to schedule this page as I made it last weekend!

One of my favourite places to visit is a Bluebell wood - there are plenty of signs of Bluebells appearing but know it will be mid Spring before they flower.

I had a mop up page from cleaning a stencil so added some colour by way of an ink spritzed acrylic block, some washi tape and some stamping.

The Bluebell stamps are designed by my friend Sarah for The Artistic Stamper.

I am joining in at Art Journal Journey and Valerie's 'Spring' theme.

I hope to be back soon but the packing process has started.

Thanks for looking, Chris

T Stands For - a tasty reward!

Hi everyone, last week we had quite a long walk into Manchester again. We took our car in and unfortunately the service garage isn't on a public transport route. It took us about 50 minutes to walk.

We did a little bit of shopping then went to Gino's for lunch.

Hubby had Mushroom Risotto and I had one of my favourites on their menu - Butternut Squash Ravioli in a cream sauce. We shared a side salad.I apologise for starting before remembering to take a photo. As I am sharing our drinks at T Stands For Tuesday at Bleubeard and Elizabeth's blog - The Altered Book Lover I'm sure you can spot the bottle of water, I also had a tonic water with ice and lemon.
We had quick visit to the bank and Marks and Spencers, where I found a top at a bargain price in the end of the sales, and returned to Gino's for coffee and a shared Chocolate cheesecake with sour cherries. Hubby had a Latte while I had my usual Americano.

We then set off on the long walk back - altogether on Friday I walked 20,117 steps.

Today we did our weekly food shop and called in to Styall Mill Gardens for a walk in the sunshine.

Someone has put bird food on the fence posts near the entrance and these two crows refused to be scared off!

The cafe was closed today.

The Sweet Pea supports are ready
There were quite a few bees around and this butterfly. I can't find this anywhere on ID charts so far!
The Irises are through too!

Aubretia for sale!!!! Pity I don't have a garden!
From the top path leading to the car park you can see through to the cottage in the garden that is by the Sweet Pea garden.

Finally, the pond by the car park and off we went to do our shopping!
