Anything Is possible...in Paris

 I have a final page to add to Wendy's 'Vintage' theme at Art Journal Journey'

I love this image from GeckoGalz - it reminds me of Paris and I have used some stamps by Elusive Images(now Chocolate Baroque) of Pont Royal, a very ornate bridge and the third oldest of the bridges over the Seine and I was pleased that a piece of washi tape matched up perfectly with the image. I also added some Tim Holtz stamps over the Crowded Attic paper(also TH) that I painted over with watered down Paper Artsy Fresco paint.

We walked rather than travelled by Metro when we were in Paris - one day I walked over 25,000 steps (about 12 miles- 19KM) We crossed the Seine by various bridges over the week.

We saw this bridge - Pont de Sully from the top of the Institut de Monde Arabe (more of that another day) It links Isle St Louis to both banks of the Seine 

We walked along by the Seine and saw the 'beach' and a covered football pitch and play areas.

T Stands for - the break

Hi everyone, I've already mentioned that our break did us so much good.

 We had a lot of paper work to do and with a failing computer not was difficult.I'm pleased to say that the new computer is behaving well. 

We have now had our PCR Covid tests which have come back with negative results. We had a couple of problems getting the information needed while we were away and ended up ringing a helpline - sorted in such a short time!

The holiday began with a little bit of trauma - we left our passports at home, fortunately youngest son was off work and could bring them to us. 

We had to cancel a train to Poitiers and stay in Paris overnight but not too much harm done, although it did cut short our time with our friends (my ex SIL and hubby)

As it's Tuesday I'll start with our drinks...so that I can join the T Gang and Bleubeard and Elizabeth for T Stands for Tuesday at The Altered Book Lover blog

No smile from hubby as he was busy trying to sort out some accommodation for us in Paris.

We chose to go to a Mercure hotel and our first view in the morning was of the hotel chickens - we saw someone go and feed them later.

We had a little walk around the area - one we knew quite well.The hotel is on Rue de la Gaite where there are a number of old theatre buildings and lots of eateries

These bears are now everywhere in Paris - positioned to keep folk apart in cafes and bars

It was only a short walk to the railway station.

After a pleasant journey we finally reached our destination - lots of chatting even though we speak on Face Time each week.

The next morning we went for a lovely walk. During lockdown this was one of a few regular walks for our friends.

We did see some sunflowers in bloom later in the week but these were definitely over.

I loved the way the fence was decorated

This old mill had been up for let for while but we think someone may have moved in.

Finally past the Chateau - it was good to take this walk in the morning, by midday it was quite hot!

The afternoon was spent eating and chatting!

Autumn's Blessings

Hi everyone, I know it's Autumn as the leaves are already falling - earlier than last year I'm sure. Our new theme at Try It On Tuesday is 'Autumn's Blessings' and the Design team are definitely counting their own Autumn blessings - please take a look at them here.

I love seeing the colours in fallen leaves and have made my own little pile of leaves on my journal page.

I stamped my pile using masks to allow the leaves to overlap onto a background made with watercolour pencils and a water brush.Some smaller Crafty Individuals leaves were stamped around the larger leaves - Paper Artsy stamps, designed by Courtney Franiche. All were stamped using Distress Inks and then I added some text (another Courtney stamp) and a quote was stamped onto a scrap and torn in half.

My final touch was a spattering of copper coloured metallic paint and touch of additional colour top some of the leaves.

I hope this theme inspires you to join us. As usual the Try It On Tuesday challenge runs for two weeks and all kinds of entries are acceptable as long as it fits the theme.

I must confess to being very tempted when I saw this pile of leaves in a Paris park last week - I would have loved to run right through them.
