Drawing the line

Hi everyone, I've come along to draw a line under my theme of 'Hold The Line' at Art Journal Journey. 

I've had a great time, got to meet some new artists as well as seeing lots of pages by old friends(I hope you don't mind being called that).

Thank you everyone who has participated, I hope you enjoyed yourselves too!

I made a page in my 'junk' journal.

Most of these bits were hanging around my desk. The face is from Art Tea Life Etsy shop and I have used some washi tape from Aall and Create as well as some stripy tape.

There are lots of lines in the backing paper and I also drew some scribbly lines around the page.

So that's it and I have to tell you I am looking forward to November's new theme so I hope you will pop back here tomorrow.

Looking for rainbows

 Hi everyone, you will be pleased to know that todays page is a little more cheery.

We switched off all communications yesterday afternoon, a very rainy one, and watched The Secret Garden - I love the story, but this time the locations were in a variety of country gardens all linked together to be one big CGI garden! Well, you know me and my love of gardens so I was instantly lifted out of the doldrums!

I made this water colour rainbow a couple of weeks ago and fortunately as my bad mood lifted it was there waiting to be used!

I used part of a new stamp from Indigoblu by Asia Marquet down the page and added a scrap of master board, a music star that seems to have been in my scraps for ages and a wrapper from one of the biscuits we bought on a trip to Tatton Park to eat with our flask coffee, so it's a happy memory page too!

I added some doodles around the edge of the page.

I have one more page for my Hold The Line theme at Art Journal Journey and I have loved seeing so many different interpretations of the theme, Thank you all so much for your support.

Joy...

Hi everyone, I'm only here for a short post today to show you my latest page for Art Journal Journey and my Hold the Line theme 

I've been a bit down - nothing I could put my finger on - poor hubby kept getting snapped at and he did his best to cheer me up.

  

I turned to some new stamps by Tracey Easson - Angels of Love and Light.

I started with Paper Artsy Infusions powders - I really wasn't in the mood for bright colours.I used them to colour the beautiful angel too.

Some lines were added with the edge of a credit card. It was a drab old world for this lovely being.

I added a silvery moon and some words, even some sparkle with some Stickles but it just wasn't right...I left her on my desk.

The next day I added some blue stamping from a small set of Tracey's, as you can see it made a big difference - a brighter day for the photo may have helped too!

Below I have done a closer look at the sparkle!

I'm pleased to say that, even though we have rain today, my mood has lifted... as Abba once sang 'I believe in angels'

I'll be back with something brighter soon!

T Stands For.......taking coffee in the garden

Hi everyone,it's school half term this week and we are staying at home,  even though with the amount of rain we are having I doubt that will be as many out as we thought!

Last week before our grocery pick up (we are having it delivered this week) we went to Styall and before going into the gardens decided to have a quick walk around Chapel Wood.

I think I may have overdone the number of photos this time! Feel free to go and grab a drink  

A lot of photos were taken while waiting for dog walkers to pass

A group of children were having a great time in the wood - here they were running up the banks and back - their mothers were in a little group at a picnic table chatting.

We had walked back on the other side and back over the bridge

It was here that I had to retreat down this path - I had been heading up the path to the right when a group of six young adults were across the path chatting, totally unaware of my presence, as not one of them acknowledged the fact that I had retraced my steps to avoid them. Are we still wondering how this virus has spread so easily?

Storm clouds loomed, but came to nothing, even so, I had taken an umbrella, the afternoon was a different tale!

We reached the gardens

and picked a coffee up the cafe...

...and took it into the garden

We removed the safety lids and I remembered to take a photo before taking my cup to warm my hands.

The sun shone intermittently and it  was a good cup!

Back to the garden

Most plants are dying down but the Delphinium is still a riot of blue

I didn't expect to see strawberries still ripening

This is the seat we were on

The path to the steps is still shut

                                                                                   

We still can't go down these steps either( and blogger is deciding where my photos go!!)

The Gunnera had died down totally

Our favourite seat but we didn't stop...

Great to see the Hydrangeas are keeping their colour, there were some new blooms!

We have never seen this sign before!

You will be pleased to know we are nearly back at the car park

A final look at where we went in earlier - the visitor centre is now open.

I hope you aren't flagging by now!

Next week I will be showing you some of the local walks we have taken over the month.
